The authoring tool. Where an experienced engineer sits down and writes out how they actually find a fault, turning it into a route someone else can follow.
Most people try to do this in a flowchart tool and give up, because general drawing software has no idea what a diagnostic step is. BuntelliBuild only does one thing, so it can get out of your way.

The tool you open with the panel door already off. It starts at the symptom, asks one thing at a time, and takes you to the component that has actually failed.
The point is not to replace an engineer's judgement. It is to stop a job stalling because the only person who has seen this fault before is on holiday.

The part that makes the other two worth having twelve months later. Every tree, every run and every note your team leaves behind, held together in one place.
It stays on your machines. Your fault history is commercially sensitive, and there is no good reason for it to sit on someone else's server.

How they fit
One install, three modes.
These are not three separate purchases with three separate logins. They are three faces of the same desktop application: one person writes a tree in Build, the team follows it in Trace, and Data quietly keeps the record of both.
It is a proper desktop app rather than a website, because it needs to read and write files on your own machine without a browser getting in the way, and because a workshop is not always a place with reliable signal.
